Onboarding starts the day your order form is signed. Your organization is set up within 1 to 2 business days, and your providers can be loaded in bulk rather than entered one by one.
Work through the stages below in order, opening each one for the detail.
- Your team gets access1 to 2 business days
Your order form is signed, your organization is set up, and your team signs in at admin.credentialnetwork.com. Service organizations send us a list of their client organization names so we can set those clients up in bulk.
Note on timing: your organization is set up within 1 to 2 business days of your order form being signed. Those are business days, so an order form signed outside business hours starts the clock on the next one. If you are a single organization that credentials your own providers, that is all we need from you. If you are a service organization that credentials on behalf of multiple clients, email your list of client organization names to help@credentialnetwork.com or share it with your point of contact so we can set those clients up in bulk in the same window.
Your CredNet implementation contact creates your organization and invites your first administrators by email. Once that invitation arrives, accepting it is the only thing standing between you and working in CredComply.
- Watch for the invitation email from CredNet.
- Select the link in it and create your password.
- Bookmark admin.credentialnetwork.com, the address your team will use every day.
Need the rest of your credentialing team added? Email help@credentialnetwork.com with their names and work email addresses and we will send the invitations.
The full walkthrough, including which sign-in belongs to your team and which belongs to your providers, and what to do when an invitation has not arrived or a password is rejected, is in Getting Access to CredComply.
- Set up your organization
Work down the left side navigation. Groups, payers, and facilities all need to exist before your providers attach to them.
- Start in the left side navigation
Everything you set up lives in the sidebar, and working down it in order is the shortest path through setup.
Getting Around CredComply - Set up your groups firstAbout 5 minutes each
A group is a unique TIN. Locations sit underneath that TIN, each with its own NPI Type 2 or other details of its own. Groups come first because payers, facilities, and providers all attach to them. Budget about 5 minutes per group or location. Group documents live here too: upload things like payer contracts to the group and they stay saved with it.
Adding a New Group - Using CredComply for payer enrollment? Set up your payersAbout 1 minute each
Add a payer, then associate it to a group. It then appears automatically for every provider under that group, on their payer enrollment tab.
Adding a New Payer - Using it for facility credentialing and privileging? Set up your facilitiesAbout 1 minute each
Add the facilities you will be getting privileges from and associate them to groups. They then show up automatically in the appointments section of each provider under those groups.
- Add your points of contact as you go
Groups, payers, and facilities all take as many points of contact as you want to add. Putting them in as you set each record up gives your whole company one centralized rolodex of who to call, instead of contact details sitting in one person's inbox.
- Add your administratorsYour initialsSettingsTeam
Open the menu under your initials in the top right corner, go to Settings, then the Team tab. From there you can add other administrators, or give someone view only access so they can read dashboards like the Enrollment Matrix without being able to change anything.
Note on access: the full help center sits behind the same login you use for CredComply, so your account has to be set up before you can open those articles. Once you are signed in, the question mark icon in CredComply takes you there.
- Your providers are uploaded
Two ways to load the roster, both ending in the same place.
Option 1: CredAssistSame dayAbout 10 minutesSelf start with one prompt and a list of NPI and DataSpring (CAQH) pairs, up to 100 at a time.
Option 2: We upload themAs soon as same weekUpload a spreadsheet with first name, last name, email, and NPI to the secure folder we set up for you. On Pro we link DataSpring (CAQH) and import records too.
Option 1: Set them up yourself with CredAssist
CredAssist can create your providers from a list of NPI numbers. Open CredAssist and give it this instruction, with your own list in place of the last line:
CredAssist promptSetup my providers using NPI lookup tool and add them to the CAQH integration. NPI number, CAQHOne provider per line, each line holding the NPI number and the DataSpring (CAQH) ID, separated by a comma.
Run it with a single provider first and check that the profile comes back the way you expect. Once it does, send the rest in bulk, in lists of up to 100 providers at a time. A list that size takes an estimated 10 minutes to run.
Note on DataSpring (CAQH) access: a provider has to enable Credential Network to roster them in DataSpring (CAQH) before their records can be pulled in. Some DataSpring settings allow that connection to happen automatically, so check yours before you start.
This is only an option for teams that want to self start. CredNet can also support you through it directly, and we can plan that during your implementation kickoff.
Option 2: We upload your provider list
The rapid onboarding start is the least work for your team: you hand the CredNet team your list, and we upload it for you. For each provider, we need four fields:
- First name
- Last name
- NPI (National Provider Identifier)
That is the whole requirement. A spreadsheet with those four columns is enough for us to create every provider record in your organization.
You do not need to email it. We set up a folder for your organization where you can securely upload your spreadsheet, and we process it from there. Your onboarding contact shares that folder with you once your order form is signed. Uploads are a fixed $1,000 per client, covering both this list and your enrollment statuses in step 6 rather than a fee each.
On the Pro plan: CredNet can also link each provider's DataSpring (CAQH) ID automatically and import all of their DataSpring records during the same upload, so profiles arrive already populated instead of empty. This requires the appropriate user settings on your DataSpring provider account as well. DataSpring is the organization formerly known as CAQH.
Once your providers are in
Check that each provider is assigned to a group, because that is what pulls the group's data into their profile automatically, and set each provider's stage while you are there. CredAssist can do most of this in bulk rather than provider by provider. See Linking a Provider to a Group. Your dashboards populate as this falls into place, and they are the best place to make large changes across many of your providers at once.
Adding providers after your bulk setup
Once the bulk setup is done, add each new provider with CredAssist's Onboard a Provider workflow. It is the efficient way to bring in one provider at a time, and the same workflow runs exclusion checks against OIG, SAM, and the specific state databases you need.
Adding providers manually
There is a third route: add each provider by hand, running the Public lookup tool to pull their NPI details and entering their records yourself.
We discourage this for an initial roster. It is slow, it is the easiest way to introduce typos into data you will rely on later, and it brings in neither the DataSpring (CAQH) records nor the exclusion checks that the options above handle for you. See Adding a Provider for all three ways to do it.
- Your onboarding callAs soon as same week
Your booking link arrives the same day your order form is signed, and you pick the slot, so the timing comes down to your team's calendars.
Your onboarding call is a live walkthrough of the platform plus initial training for the people on your team who will be in it every day.
You will be sent a link to book it on the same day your order form is signed, and you choose the slot. It can happen as soon as the same week, and because it depends on your own team's availability it typically lands 1 to 2 weeks in. The kickoff is with your sales point of contact and your CredNet implementation manager, so book it as early as your calendars allow.
You do not need to wait for that call to begin. Your team can sign in and work through the earlier stages on its own beforehand, and plenty of teams prefer to arrive at the call with questions from their own data.
- Save historic records as inactiveSelf serve
Importing data from DataSpring (CAQH) can be noisy. Tell CredAssist to make every record that expired before your cutoff date inactive and it does the whole set in one pass.
Importing data from DataSpring (CAQH) can be noisy. The import typically brings in historic and expired records alongside the current ones, and left in place they crowd the dashboard and make it harder to see what actually needs attention.
This one is self serve. Tell CredAssist to inactivate everything past a cutoff date and it works through the whole set for you:
CredAssist promptMake all records that expired before [insert date] inactive.Swap [insert date] for your own cutoff. Nothing is deleted: the records move out of your active view, so your dashboard opens on current credentials and real expiration dates.
- Payer enrollment statuses loadAs soon as same week
Upload one spreadsheet of payers, providers, and statuses to your secure folder, and your enrollment board reflects where everyone actually stands.
Once your providers are in, CredNet can run a spreadsheet upload that sets the payer enrollment status for each provider. This is usually the view your schedulers care about most, because it shows at a glance which providers are enrolled with which plans.
Upload one spreadsheet to the same secure folder, covering three things:
- Your payers
- Your providers
- The status for each provider and payer pairing
Coming from legacy credentialing softwareWe accept standard exports from Modio and CredentialMyDocIf your team is on legacy credentialing software, you do not need to rebuild your provider and enrollment data by hand. Upload a standard export of both from vendors such as Modio and CredentialMyDoc to your secure folder and we will load it for you, getting you started the same week. For any standardized export from Modio or CredentialMyDoc, CredNet is waiving the $1,000 spreadsheet upload fee in 2026.
Onboarding ends, the relationship does not.
